Gerard butler plays real life Sam Childers, a ruff neck biker with a brutal past who finds God, goes to the Sudan and helps out the youngsters there who have escaped the clutches of a warlords evil recruitment draft in favour of mass genocide.

We’ve seen this kinda thing before a million times. I bad guy making good by fighting for a cause. But is Machine Gun Preacher any different to what has come before? This is in the hands of a guy who has, in recent years, made it his thing to tackle tricky subject matter, while at the same time trying to be more objective than biased. Marc Forster wants us to see the story of Sam Childers, real life down n’ out to saviour.
