Last year brought us Final Destination 4 3D; the best thing that this worn out idea of a movie had going for it, was that it appeared to be describing the grand pair of jugs of a large woman. However, it was also called ‘The’ Final Destination; that would suggest that maybe, possibly, it was the last one. Fingers crossed. No such luck, as numero 5 is now hitting the screens. Honestly, after sitting through this, I wanted to hit the screen, like…with a club or accidently set it on fire with some fire or something.

The latest instalment in the popular horror series needs no real introduction: it is, after all, merely a showcase for a range of interesting and elaborate death sequences. As with the others (perhaps excluding the first film), narrative is the most basic of templates: a group of people avoid death after a vision forewarns them, only to be picked off one by one as Death reclaims the souls it is owed.
